I BUILT THIS BECAUSE I NEEDED IT

For more than a decade I built massive platforms for other people. I was the one behind the scenes who could see exactly what a business needed and make the strategic calls that unlocked growth for who they actually were.

I told myself my expertise only counted in service of the experts I worked for. That I was the one who made their work land, not someone with work of my own.

Somewhere along the way it stopped being true. I wasn't just making their work land anymore. I had my own, and I kept standing in the helper role anyway. Staying behind the scenes looked like service. It looked like humility. That's exactly why it took me so long to see it. I'd stopped being the helper. I'd become the expert, and I was still hiding behind my clients.

What finally cracked it open was watching the people I'd helped. These were brilliant, accomplished people. The only thing standing between them and the sidelines was that they'd given themselves permission to be visible and build businesses based around who they truly were. So I built the work I now take people through, and turned it on myself. The proof had been there all along.

A trained singer doesn't fill a hall by getting louder. She finds the one frequency the orchestra isn't playing, and lets her voice resonate there. The year I stopped straining to match someone else's pitch and tuned to my own was the highest-revenue year I've ever had. Not because I pushed harder.
